LG Partners with DATAVOLT to Provide Cooling for NEOM’s AI Data Center

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA – LG Electronics (LG) is expanding its growth strategy in the Middle East, announcing a partnership to supply advanced cooling solutions for a new AI data center in NEOM’s Oxagon, the industrial hub of Saudi Arabia. LG CEO William Cho met with representatives from DATAVOLT, a global data infrastructure provider, and SHAKER Group, the sole distributor of LG Air Conditioners in Saudi Arabia, to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

This collaboration positions LG’s thermal management as a new growth engine, leveraging its advanced HVAC technology for next-generation, energy-efficient data centers. DATAVOLT’s flagship project in Oxagon is planned as one of the largest AI data centers in the region, with ambitions to create net-zero, AI-ready facilities. This partnership reinforces LG’s commitment to the Middle East and Africa, which are central to its “Global South” growth strategy.

By integrating large-scale chillers and coolant distribution units, LG aims to provide comprehensive solutions for data centers. The company plans to expand this into an integrated “One LG Solution” strategy, potentially including battery solutions from LG Energy Solution. This move solidifies LG’s role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation and its efforts to become a global technology hub.
