TikTok Unveils ‘The TikTok Effect’ Report: Platform Contributes SAR 3.9 Billion to Saudi GDP and Supports Over 25,000 Jobs

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA – September 11, 2025 – TikTok, in collaboration with strategy consulting firm Redseer Strategy Consultants, today released its first socio-economic impact report for Saudi Arabia, “The TikTok Effect.” The report reveals the platform’s significant role in advancing Saudi Vision 2030, contributing SAR 3.9 billion to the Kingdom’s GDP and supporting more than 25,000 jobs in 2024 alone.

The report details how TikTok is becoming a vital driver of Saudi Arabia’s creative and digital economy, with over one million creators and more than 170,000 small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) active on the platform. By helping businesses scale their reach and streamline marketing efforts, TikTok has enabled new economic pathways and opportunities, aligning with Vision 2030’s goal to increase the GDP contribution of SMBs to 35 percent.

According to the findings, TikTok’s advertising tools and free services generated an additional SAR 3 billion in SMB revenue. A remarkable 61% of Saudi SMBs reported improved brand visibility, with nearly half launching new offerings based on audience feedback. The platform is also enhancing operational efficiency, as 42% of SMBs stated TikTok saves them significant time on marketing.

Beyond economic metrics, the report highlights the platform’s role in fostering a strong entrepreneurial and creative culture. More than half of creators (54%) agree TikTok has been the most effective platform for reaching their audience, leading to real opportunities for financial independence. This momentum is particularly notable among youth and women, with 55% of SMBs believing TikTok encourages youth ventures and 23% of Saudi female entrepreneurs crediting TikTok with inspiring them to start their businesses.

“TikTok’s impact in Saudi Arabia extends well beyond entertainment. The platform is fostering entrepreneurship, enabling job creation, and strengthening cultural identity,” said Dr. Hatem Samman, Executive Director, Government Relations & Public Policy for Saudi Arabia, TikTok. “As the digital landscape continues to evolve and Saudi Arabia advances toward its Vision 2030 objectives, TikTok is proud to serve as a partner in unlocking opportunities for businesses, creators, and communities across the country.”

The report also found that TikTok is shaping consumer behavior, influencing SAR 110 billion in consumer spending annually and providing SAR 19 billion in estimated consumer surplus. This demonstrates the platform’s growing role in modern commerce, where content and community drive demand.

Furthermore, TikTok is amplifying Saudi identity and global visibility. The report notes that 88% of Saudi nationals believe the platform fosters national pride. Globally, 30% of surveyed users were inspired to visit the Kingdom after engaging with Saudi content, a testament to TikTok’s powerful role in promoting tourism, culture, and sports on a global stage.
